BOOGIE BOX FESTIVAL CAMPAIGN / CONCEPT, FILM, EDIT, VFX

For the final edition of Boogie Box, a well-known house music festival in UAE with an international line-up, I created a promotional concept built around anticipation, atmosphere and the idea of a last gathering.

Set on Al Hudayriat Island near Abu Dhabi, the campaign followed a group of young people drifting between the pool and the shoreline, blending the energy of a festival with the contemplative feel of a fashion film. From concept and casting to cinematography, editing and graphics, I developed the campaign from the ground up.

BOOGIE BOX RAVE HANGAR TEASER / CONCEPT, FILM, EDIT, VFX

For this Boogie Box edition, the challenge was to promote an unconventional new venue: an old boat hangar near Dubai, being transformed into a rave space for the first time. Rather than showing the finished event, I wanted the teaser to make audiences imagine what the empty space could become.

The hangar was filmed before the event, using controlled lighting and the DJ booth as the visual centre of the film. Two performers were introduced through fragmented silhouettes and movement, deliberately avoiding clear facial identification. The intention was to create the feeling of a rave without documenting one, to suggest the crowd, energy and atmosphere through light, bodies and space.

Post-production became a major part of the creative language. I built a fast-paced edit around flashing typography, Boogie Box branding, DJ names and visual effects, using graphic elements almost like bursts of light between shots. The rhythm progressively intensified, turning the teaser into an immersive invitation rather than a conventional event announcement.

CAFÉ BELGA NIGHTLIFE AFTERMOVIES / FILM, SOUND MIX, EDIT

A collection of aftermovies created for Café Belga, a Brussels nightlife institution known for its eclectic programming and energetic DJ sets.

Each film was approached as its own visual story, adapting the cinematography, editing and soundtrack to the personality of the night.

My personal practice of DJing and music selection also informed the soundtrack choices and, in some cases, the way tracks were blended, allowing image and sound to work as one continuous rhythm.

These formats were specifically produced for the Café Belga Instagram account, where they were published as Reels. The series consistently achieved strong engagement, with several videos reaching tens of thousands of views, helping amplify the visibility of the events and reinforcing Café Belga’s presence within the Brussels nightlife scene.

SECTA x BASSIANI DUBAI SHOWCASE / FILM & EDIT

Created for SECTA x Bassiani, this aftermovie documented the first Bassiani showcase in the UAE, held at Industrial Avenue in Dubai. The collaboration brought together Dubai's emerging alternative techno community and one of Tbilisi's defining underground institutions, making the event as much a cultural exchange as a club night.

BOOGIE BOX RESIDENT TESTIMONIALS / FILM & EDIT

Created as part of a promotional campaign for Boogie Box, these two short films gave the collective's resident DJs a direct voice in communicating what makes the festival distinctive.

In the first film, Shadi Megallaa speaks about Boogie Box's preference for extended DJ sets—a philosophy that gives artists the time and freedom to develop a musical journey rather than compressing their performance into a short festival slot. His long-standing connection to the collective made him a natural voice for this aspect of the experience.

The second film features Hani J, another Boogie Box resident, discussing the importance of environment. His perspective reflects the collective's broader approach to electronic music, where the setting, atmosphere and audience are as important to the experience as the music itself.

BOOGIE BOX AFTERMOVIES SERIES / FILM, EDIT

Across several Boogie Box editions, I approached each aftermovie as a creative exercise: how can I capture the identity of the party while finding a visual language that makes this film different from the last?

The first film documents Boogie Box at Pura Eco Retreat in Abu Dhabi, an outdoor edition set among the mangroves of Jubail Island. The environment was central to the experience, so I followed the event from day into night, taking time to document the landscape, the venue, the crowd and the gradual transformation of the atmosphere as the sun went down

The third film, created during Boogie Box's time at 25hours Hotel Dubai One Central, became a technical experiment.

I developed a visual frame in DaVinci Resolve Fusion that reacted directly to the soundtrack, using an algorithm to drive the animation from the actual audio.

The VFX became part of the rhythm of the edit rather than a decorative layer, creating a visual response to the music and giving the aftermovie its own identity.

For the 11th Anniversary, held at Coda in Dubai with New York house and techno artist Anthony Parasole as the main international guest, I took the opposite approach. The film was edited entirely in black and white, using contrast, movement and a more aggressive rhythm to create a raw house-and-rave aesthetic. The monochrome treatment gave the anniversary a distinct visual identity while reinforcing the intensity of the music and the energy of the crowd.
